Blair Wilson et Elizabeth May on fait un point de presse ce matin, annonçant que le Parti vert du Canada a son premier député vert, M. Blair Wilson, député de West Vancouver—Sunshine Coast—Sea to Sky Country (Colombie-Britannique).

“Aujourd’hui nous faisons l’histoire” dit Mme May. En effet, étant donné le système de scrutin uninominal à un tour, le Parti vert du Canada n’a aucun député malgré avoir obtenu 4.48% des votes (13 députés dans un système proportionnel) durant l’élection de Janvier 2006.

Ceux qui me connaissent savent que j’ai récemment tenter de faire Ottawa à Boston en vélo, solo. Je n’ai pas réussi, mais utilisant Google Maps, j’ai réussi à retracé mon chemin. J’avais atteint la municipalité de Alatona, 15 miles à l’extérieur de Platsburgh, NY.

… is Massachusetts!

Joking of course. But I really enjoyed my time down here. I’d probably move to Somerville or Cambridge in a flash if it wasn’t part of the United-States.

Quebec can seperate from Canada and go with the States. After all, the US could use a little quebec culture, a better “raison d’être”. Plus, its only up until recently were both “nations” using a two party system!

But then again, who would want to merge with the US in these dangerous times? And Americans probably couldn’t fathom pledging alliance to the queen. Neither could I. The Earth and its people are my only teachers.
