Ask your friends, co-workers and family if they have any family in British-Columbia. I asked the secretary at my workplace if she had family in BC. When she said yes, I sent her the following so she could foward it to her family in BC.

Dear citizen of British-Columbia,
As you may know, on May 12th, you will have a historic occasion to change your electoral system; from an undemocratic First past the post system to Single Transferable Vote (STV) system which gives you, the voter, more choice and fairer election result.
The current electoral system can give very undemocratic results. In 2001, the result was so lopsided that 43% of the votes only elected 2 MLAs and BC had no official opposition. In 2005, over 13% of voters voted for smaller parties that received no seats, and half of British Colombians were represented by an MLA who they did not vote for.
The electoral system is in dire need of change. For a video on BC-STV, see http://www.citizensassembly.bc.ca/flash/bc-stv-count . For more information on STV, see http://www.stv.ca/ or write to me at julien.lamarche@gmail.com
I hope you will vote yes for BC-STV, a more democratic electoral system. The victory will go down in the history books as the first province to move away from First Past the Post and will set a precedent to restore democracy elsewhere in the country.
